Rotary – In a nutshell, this is who we are and what we do:
Grosse Pointe Sunrise Rotary is part of Rotary International (RI), one of the largest humanitarian service organizations in the world. RI is known for its ability to bring business and professional leaders together to provide community service, promote integrity, and advance goodwill, peace, and understanding in the world. Rotarians are especially known for their continued efforts to eradicate polio.
Through our 501(c)(3) foundation, the Grosse Pointe Sunrise Rotary Club supports many international projects, but this club works especially hard to be effective locally. In 2021, a year that was difficult for so many, we are especially proud to report that we raised more money than ever before. This money allowed us to give $28,000 in scholarships to students in seven schools within our community and the tri-county area. We also supported: Kids on the Go, One Voice, St. Charles Soup Kitchen, SOAR Detroit-Children’s Literacy Program, Operation Warm, Full Circle, The Family Center, Gianna House, HART – Haiti and Africa Relief Team, Orphans of Kenya, and Peace Lutheran Church Food Pantry.
It is a new year and there is still much to do. The Grosse Pointe Run is our main fundraiser. Please become a runner, a walker, or a sponsor. Buy an ad, be a corporate sponsor, become a dedicated scholarship sponsor or simply give a donation. We thank all of you for your support and participation.
